Our practice
MEP engineering for new, existing and occupied buildings.
Since 1992, MMA has helped clients create, adapt and improve buildings across the UK.
From London and Manchester, we bring mechanical, electrical and public health engineering together as one coordinated service.

Why MMA
MMA supports landmark developments, operating estates and individual projects. Our role often continues beyond a single commission: retaining the technical knowledge of a building, coordinating change and helping clients make informed decisions as requirements evolve.
That experience is particularly valuable in occupied and trading environments, where services must be understood before they are altered and where design decisions need to work on site as well as on paper.
Experience in context
Our work ranges from estate-wide landlord advice to detailed fit-out and refurbishment design. These projects are part of a wider archive spanning eight core sectors.

Retained MEP Consultant – All Project Phases (2021–Present)

Retained MEP Consultant – Site Wide (2013–Present)

Retained MEP Consultant – Site Wide (2026–Present)
How we work
Our approach is straightforward: understand the building, coordinate the disciplines and stay involved as decisions move from strategy to site.
Experienced engineers remain close to the work, giving clients continuity from early advice through design and delivery.
Design decisions respond to the architecture, programme, budget and the realities of constructing and operating the building.
We work openly with clients, architects, contractors and specialists so technical decisions are made in context.
Comfort, energy, adaptability and maintainability are considered together—not treated as separate questions.
What we do
Fire safety systems include detection, alarm, sprinkler and smoke-control services coordinated with the project fire engineer and wider design team.
Coordinated building services developed as one design, not a collection of separate disciplines.
Technical continuity for estates and occupied buildings, balancing landlord standards with tenant requirements.
Clear evidence before intervention, helping clients understand constraints, risk and opportunity.
Sector experience
Broad experience gives us useful points of comparison, while every design remains specific to its building, users and brief.
How we’re appointed
MMA can work to recognised RIBA stages or a clearly defined bespoke scope, as lead MEP consultant or as part of a wider consultant team.
Long-term technical knowledge and consistent standards across estates, portfolios and repeat programmes.
Integrated mechanical, electrical and public health design from early strategy through detailed information and delivery.
Review and coordination of tenant proposals, capacities, interfaces and compliance with landlord requirements.
Surveys, feasibility, due diligence and clearly defined interventions for a specific building or decision.
